We made an appointment with Frank Howard Allen Realtors to look at houses, and they stood us up. We vowed never, ever to do business with them. (and no, we weren't paid to say that!) We went looking on our own and met up with David Subke at an open house in "Birdland" and ended up making an offer. If you can believe this, the property didn't appraise out and the bank turned down the loan. Well, that's when David went on the hunt for us. He found us a house in San Anselmo by tracking down a reluctant owner with a for sale sign in the window of a vacant house. We're still here after 23 years and didn't find out until later that this was David's first sale. |

Mark Adler Dear Nancie, In seriousness I can't imagine having taken this odyssey with another realty company. My mom was always quite intuitive, and I think she recognized qualities in Sandy, you and your company which proved themselves throughout the process. Though the road was often bumpy, the ride was a pleasure. You do indeed have a gem in Sandy. She seemed to navigate each unexpected turn with a sunny optimism (properly grounded with some earthy humor) which kept the momentum from ever flagging. That, and her roll-up-your-sleeves attitude were above and beyond the call of duty (I clearly remember looking up, while I was on the phone, to see her drag the bed into the living room so my mom's room could be readied for carpet and paint). And though our interaction with you was much less frequent, those times when you personally lent us your experience and guidance were invaluable.
